Specialism
Tanya is a property solicitor, based at our Penrith office. She is experienced in a wide range of property matters, including high value and more complex transactions, and those involving unregistered land or agricultural elements. She acts in the sale and purchase of building plots and larger development sites and has also acted for large developers in the setting up and sale of estate plots, including leasehold developments.
In 2008, Tanya gained the Land Registry's Diploma in Legal Practice, one of only a small number of Solicitors in the country to do so.
Career
After beginning her legal career at a well-regarded Thames Valley firm, where her responsibilities included management of a busy residential property department, Tanya relocated to Cumbria in 2004 and has since occupied senior roles in firms in both the north and south of the county. In 2019, Tanya joined the firm of Gaynham King & Mellor and became responsible for the property law team. Following the merger of GKM with Bendles in 2026, Tanya manages the residential property team across the firm.
